100 Years in the Making

On August 16, 2020 MLB is honoring the Negro Leagues Centennial. The Other Boys of Summer is proud to be part of this celebration. When we heard cardboard cutouts would be the only fans allowed at the games this season we thought how great it would be to include the Negro Leaguers and get them in the seats. We reached out to MLB and many of the teams and pitched the idea to shine the spotlight on these unsung heroes. Everyone loved it. We hope you've gotten a chance to see some of the Negro League stars while watching your favorite MLB match ups.

Film Director Lauren Meyer was invited to be part of the day of commemoration and joined the Astros broadcast booth during the 4th inning of today's game against the Mariners. She also joined Nick Green of Fox Sports South and Bob Kendrick of The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum to discuss the Negro Leagues and it's impact on history.
