Since 2019 The Other Boys of Summer has been a catalyst for change. We take pride in producing a film that enables the men (and women) of the Negro Leagues to share their personal stories even after they've passed away. As the climate of 2025 became more divisive we felt it was very important to keep sharing these stories and preserving this part of American History. We continue to work with communities, schools and organizations to share the stories and create a space that fosters belonging and everyone is welcome. The film gives unsung heroes the spotlight while educating, entertaining and inspiring.

2025 took us to a variety of places. Below are a few photos from the road.

The Harry Dallara Foundation hosted a free community program at Converse University that included a full buffet of burgers and hot dogs and ballpark options before the screening. It was open to the public and everything was free. World Series Champion Marquis Grissom joined us and shared some of his experiences. Marquis continues to be very involved with creating access and opportunities for underserved youth to play ball. A number of kids who have come through his program are now playing in the majors and minors. But his goal is not about creating Major League ballplayers, he is committed to creating "Major League Citizens that give back to their community".

The film was also part of the West Michigan Whitecaps Negro League celebration. It was a fun event with a great turnout. The film was a big hit with fans. The Whitecaps went on to win the Midwest League Championship and the organization was named Minor League Baseball 2025 Organization of the Year. Congrats to the team on and off the field.
